Food Recall

Food Recall is an important tool used by DVIF& G's team of medical nutrition therapists to help patients achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Also known as keeping a food diary, the exercise involves writing everything down that you eat for a week. Then you share this information with the nutritionist who can then develop a healthy eating plan to meet your unique lifestyle.

To make the most of food recall, it's important to jot down the amount of a particular food item. It's also crucial to write down the type of food you ate, including any condiments and drinks consumed at the meal. Also be sure to include the time of day you ate the food, where you ate it, what you were doing when you ate the food (i.e. socializing with friends, ironing, driving, etc.), and how you felt at the time (i.e. stressed, happy, scared, etc.)
