At Delaware Valley Institute of Fertility and Genetics (DVIFG) a high pregnancy rate is achieved across
the age groups with a low number of embryos transferred, by performing intracytoplasmic sperm
injection (ICSI) only when is indicated, a low rate of 30%, and with an equally low pre-implantation
genetic testing (PGT) again only when is indicated. Only 7.5 % of cases the embryos undergo a biopsy
and PGT.
Although selection and transfer of the embryos by using morphometric criteria is not a replacement for PGT, these results indicate that the overall quality of the embryos generated in our laboratory is excellent and there is no need to subject the embryos to a procedure in order to discern which one will result to a pregnancy. These high rates of pregnancy are also achieved by transferring only one embryo in most cases and thus placing the program on the excellence list of major insurance companies.
Another procedure that is performed infrequently is ICSI. Overall, this means less manipulation and procedures for the embryos and significantly less cost for the patient for the same results. DVIFG also has a superior donor program. With the use of donor eggs and subsequent frozen embryo transfer, the rate achieved is at a high of 83.3%.
