Male Same Sex Couples

At DVIF&G, we have provided fertility services to the LGBT community since 1994. Starting a family can seem a bit complicated, but our third party coordinator can help you navigate the journey.

Egg Donation and Gestational Carrier

Male same sex couples have the option to use an egg donor and gestational carrier. Egg donors can be selected from the DVIF&G Donor Program or an outside agency. Once a donor is selected and the eggs are retrieved, they are fertilized and an embryo is transferred into the carrier. Egg donation allows for the use of one or both partner’s sperm to fertilize the eggs.

Embryo Adoption and Gestational Carrier

Male couples can also participate in the embryo adoption program. Our coordinator can assist couples in matching with available embryos. These embryos have been donated by patients who have completed their families. Once selected, embryo(s) are transferred into a gestational carrier. This option does not allow for the use of either partner’s sperm.
